Solution Architect (Contract)

Contract Length: 3 months initial (strong likelihood of extension)

Rate: £615 to £625 per day
Location: Southcoast (Hybrid)

IR35 Status: TBC

We’re looking for an experienced Solution Architect to join a high-profile digital transformation programme, helping shape and deliver secure, scalable technology solutions.

This is an opportunity to play a key role in defining solution architecture across multiple workstreams, working closely with delivery teams, technical stakeholders, and business leaders to ensure solutions are aligned with strategic objectives while remaining practical and deliverable.

The Role

You’ll be responsible for the end-to-end solution architecture across a range of digital initiatives, providing technical leadership throughout the software development lifecycle.

You’ll balance strategic thinking with hands-on architectural delivery, ensuring solutions are secure, scalable, and aligned with modern engineering principles.

Key Responsibilities

• Produce high-quality solution designs and technical blueprints
• Translate business requirements into scalable, secure technical solutions
• Guide architectural decisions across multidisciplinary agile delivery teams
• Ensure architectural consistency throughout design and implementation
• Identify and mitigate technical risks across multiple workstreams
• Influence stakeholders and communicate complex technical concepts clearly
• Maintain architectural governance and design assurance
• Produce and maintain architecture documentation using enterprise collaboration tools

Essential Experience

• Proven experience as a Solution Architect delivering enterprise-scale technology solutions
• Strong understanding of modern application architecture and cloud-native design
• Experience producing end-to-end solution designs across complex environments
• Ability to balance strategic architecture with delivery-focused decision making
• Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills
• Experience working within Agile delivery environments
• Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to translate challenges into practical architectural solutions

Technical Environment

Experience with the following technologies is highly desirable:

• Azure and AWS cloud platforms
• Kubernetes and containerised applications
• Modern application platforms
• Secure by Design principles
• Zero Trust Architecture
• Software Defined Networking
• Modern integration and distributed application patterns
