Senior Data Engineer – Power BI

A major UK organisation is looking for a Senior Data Engineer to support the next phase of a Power BI reporting project. The team has completed an initial set of report builds and now needs to accelerate delivery. This hire will add both capacity and capability into the team.

This is a hands-on role for someone who can take ownership of technical delivery while also providing oversight and direction to more junior team members. The priority is delivering sizeable, straightforward data and reporting work at pace.

The client operates a hybrid working pattern and expects 2-3 days per week in Coventry.

Key responsibilities

• Build and develop end-to-end data pipelines
• Deliver Power BI reports to agreed specifications and designs
• Work with Snowflake as part of the wider data engineering landscape
• Support data mapping and ensure supporting technical documentation is produced
• Contribute hands-on to development while also reviewing the code of others
• Step in on Scrum Master-style responsibilities where required
• Help drive team output and accelerate overall delivery

• Strong hands-on engineering capability
• Experience reviewing code and improving delivery quality
• The ability to oversee and support junior developers
• Enough seniority to add both execution capacity and team leadership

Required experience

• Strong Power BI expertise
• Strong Snowflake experience
• Proven data engineering background
• Experience building pipelines end to end
• Comfortable reviewing other developers’ code
