SC & NPPV3 Technical Systems Analyst

We are looking for an experienced Technical Systems Analyst to support a complex technology transformation programme operating within a secure environment. You will work between operational stakeholders, architects and engineering teams, translating business needs into clearly defined system requirements and supporting solutions through design, delivery and implementation.

The Role

You will analyse existing systems, processes, data and operating models to identify improvements and define future requirements. The role requires someone with strong technical analysis capabilities who can understand system behaviour, integrations and information flows while keeping proposed changes aligned with operational needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyse existing systems, workflows and operating processes to identify gaps and improvement opportunities.

  • Gather, validate and document functional, non-functional and system-level requirements.

  • Translate operational needs into user stories, process maps, technical requirements and solution specifications.

  • Assess system impacts, risks, dependencies and integration considerations across multiple workstreams.

  • Analyse data structures, information flows, interfaces and migration requirements.

  • Work closely with architects, engineers, delivery teams and operational stakeholders throughout the delivery lifecycle.

  • Support backlog refinement, testing, implementation planning and operational readiness.

  • Promote consistent analysis standards and provide guidance to other analysts where required.

Essential Experience

  • Significant experience as a Technical Systems Analyst, Systems Analyst or technically focused Business Systems Analyst.

  • Strong requirements engineering skills, including functional and non-functional requirements.

  • Experience producing system specifications, user stories, process models and requirements traceability.

  • Proven ability to document current and future-state systems, processes and operating models.

  • Experience analysing system integrations, interfaces, data flows and information requirements.

  • Knowledge of data modelling, data quality assessment and data migration activities.

  • Confidence leading workshops and working across business, architecture, engineering and programme teams.

  • Experience supporting complex technology or digital transformation programmes.

  • SC Cleareed and ideally NPPV3 Clearance.

Desirable Experience

  • Experience with secure data, identity, search, matching or records-management platforms.

  • Previous delivery within government, policing or another regulated environment.

  • Understanding of systems requiring strong security, auditability and data-governance controls.

  • Exposure to large-scale data or operational transformation programmes.

The Details

  • Contract role – 6 months

  • IR35 – Outside IR35
  • Location: Hybrid, with occasional attendance in the West Midlands

  • British citizenship and the appropriate UK residency history will be required

  • Rate – £500-550.
