SR2 are supporting a housing association in sourcing a hands-on Data Infrastructure Consultant with strong Azure and legacy on-prem SQL experience. This is a short-term outside IR35 engagement, initially scoped for 2 days per week, likely to increase and extend given ongoing delivery pressures and internal capability gaps.

You’ll be joining an early-stage data platform project with a housing association, supporting the design, modernisation, and stabilisation of hybrid data infrastructure. You’ll need to be equally comfortable working with older on-prem SQL Server systems and navigating Azure services in a cost-conscious, pragmatic delivery environment.

There’s also a strong likelihood you will be pulled into an ongoing insurance project already underway.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead or support the design and implementation of hybrid data infrastructure (Azure & on-prem).
• Work with stakeholders across housing and insurance verticals to understand needs and deliver scalable, cost-effective solutions.
• Conduct hands-on SQL Server and Azure data platform tasks including data ingestion, transformation, and integration.
• Support the organisation in maturing its infrastructure capabilities, identifying gaps, and recommending simple, sustainable improvements.
• Engage directly with business and technology leaders to shape ongoing platform development.
• Influence and guide infrastructure decisions with a view to longer-term scalability and potential cloud transition.
