We are seeking an experienced Delivery Manager to support a Service Transformation and Common Capabilities Discovery within the Defra network.

This is a high-impact Discovery engagement focused on shaping how common business capabilities will be defined, tested and delivered across Defra to improve customer experience and reduce duplication in systems and administrative costs.

The Role

This is a demanding and delivery-focused role, responsible for driving digital service delivery within DDTS. You will lead and enable a multidisciplinary team to define and shape a common capability approach across the Defra network.

You will be accountable for:

• Building and maintaining motivated, collaborative delivery teams

• Identifying and removing delivery obstacles

• Maintaining focus on priority outcomes and user needs

• Facilitating workshops and stakeholder engagement sessions

• Driving continuous improvement using Agile and Lean principles

• Coaching and mentoring team members on appropriate Agile practices

• Ensuring delivery stays within agreed cost, time and quality parameters

You will play a key role in shaping how Defra defines and implements common business capabilities – including processes, people and enabling assets.

Essential Experience

• Strong GDS Delivery Manager experience (Discovery phase essential)

• Proven track record delivering digital services in central government

• Experience driving technology and information-enabled change

• Ability to manage complexity across multiple stakeholders

• Experience working in hybrid delivery environments
