Technical Business Analyst – Data Governance

You’ll join a specialist data governance team, supporting a Lead Business Analyst / Data Governance Lead to assess current governance arrangements and help develop a practical data governance framework.

This is a hands-on junior to mid-level Technical BA role suited to someone operating at SFIA Level 3-4.

What you’ll do

• Support requirements gathering and stakeholder workshops.

• Capture and document business and technical requirements.

• Help assess current data governance processes and controls.

• Support gap analysis and identify areas for improvement.

• Contribute to data governance framework documentation.

• Produce clear outputs including requirements, findings and process documentation.

• Work with business, data and technology stakeholders.

• Build understanding of the technologies underpinning data governance, including AWS environments.

What we’re looking for

• Experience as a Business Analyst or Technical Business Analyst.

• Exposure to data governance, data management or data quality.

• Good requirements-gathering and documentation skills.

• Experience supporting workshops and stakeholder engagement.

• Strong written and analytical skills.

• Understanding of DAMA principles or data governance best practice is desirable.

• Experience in a regulated, government or complex enterprise environment would be beneficial.

You do not need to have designed a governance framework from scratch, but you should be comfortable contributing to one under the guidance of senior team members.
