AI Governance Consultant

SR2 Consulting is seeking experienced AI assurance practitioners to support fieldwork on a Group-level internal audit of AI governance at a financial services organisation.

The engagement

The review covers:

• Governance structures, accountability and escalation.

• AI policies and regulatory alignment, including the EU AI Act.

• Supplier and AI tool approval processes.

• Human oversight of agentic AI, including coding agents and production release controls.

• AI literacy arrangements.

• A sample of AI use cases.

The work is primarily a design assessment, with limited operating effectiveness testing.

What you’ll contribute

• Review policies, procedures and governance evidence.

• Conduct stakeholder interviews and walkthroughs.

• Assess whether controls are appropriately designed and responsibilities are clear.

• Support sample-based testing and document evidence against the agreed audit scope.

• Produce clear working papers, findings and practical recommendations.

What we’re looking for

• Relevant AI assurance experience and the ability to contribute to internal audit fieldwork.

• Working knowledge of AI governance frameworks such as ISO/IEC 42001, NIST AI RMF and the EU AI Act.

• Strong evidence assessment, stakeholder engagement and written communication skills.

• An understanding of how AI governance operates within financial services.

Experience of agentic AI, coding assistants and software delivery controls would be a particular advantage.
